The YOUTH BOWLERS TOUR (YBT) was founded in early 1995 by Steve & Trudy Lavoie, then the owners of the popular Style Master 300 (It was originally called the Style Master 300 Scholarship Tournament and changed its name to the YBT in 1996). The tournament was created to provide Scholarships and recognition to local youth bowlers.

The October 2006 event was the 51st tournament for the organization which has awarded over $165 ,000 in scholarship awards to local youth bowlers, of that amount over $95,000 has been actually paid out to colleges, learning institutions, and organizations with bowling training and/or clinics.

Since its beginning the organization has always been sanctioned thru the YABA, now the USBC. It prides itself with a spotless sanctioning record and successful tournaments. Today, the YBT has grown to over 250 entrants per tournament and awards over $15,000 annually in Scholarships.  Approximately 3 events are scheduled per year.

Each event is USBC sanctioned and features Guaranteed Scholarships of $5,000, Bowlers compete in five average divisions (3 scratch and two handicap) with a minimum of 20 scholarships awarded at each tournament, trophies and plaques are also awarded on a 1 in 8 ratio.

The organizations huge success can be attributed to the organizations leadership which includes director Anna Sapio, who has given the organization leadership & support;  Brandon Crossroads Bowl proprietor Jeff Boje, who contributed with free lineage early on to allow the organization to build a strong foundation and who continues to provide financially by keeping the lineage very low and also helping to offset any costs; Steve & Trudy Lavoie, who continue to provide the financial backing and management;  plus the all volunteer staff including: Donald & Lori Hutchinson, Robert Kennedy, Don Spitzer and Vicki Salatino.
